Add a Linked Asset

Multiple assets can be linked to a work order by adding them as tasks on the Work Order Tasks page. Inclusion on the Work Order Tasks page will ensure the proper display on Work Order History for each specified asset.

Assets are also often linked to work orders through defined procedures.

If a task has been defined for another asset, the Asset Name and ID will be displayed preceding any task description. Assets manually linked through the Tasks page are initially assigned a Task Number of “0”, which causes them to appear at the top of the Tasks List.

1. Click the Add Asset button.

   The Asset/Location Module lookup opens.

2. Use the filter and search controls to identify the items you want to add.

3. Select the assets you want to add.

   The assets are added to the My Selection(s) area of the Asset/Location lookup.

4. Click Apply.

   The Tasks page appears. Each displayed asset has a Task Number of “0”, ensuring these assets show up at the top of the Tasks List.

   To move the task to a different place in the list, change the value of the Task Number field and click Save.

5. Click Save.
